RYCO'S Philosophy

RYCO was founded on the basic principle of providing our customers a quality product at a fair price. We believe that if we are honest and forthcoming to our customers and provide them quality products and service each and every year, we can build a solid customer base on which our business can be successful. To date, we have been able to build a strong portfolio of happy clients, offer great service and supply top of class products.

Ryco Distributing, Inc. was incorporated in 1986, by Robert L. (“Bob”) and Sherry R. Ryan. They provided agricultural, commercial, and industrial construction within the state of Illinois. Prior to that, Bob and Sherry both worked in Bushnell, IL. In 1962 Sherry, then Sherry Homer, worked as a dispatcher for Homer Fertilizer & Ready Mix, her father’s business. Bob worked as a grain bin erector for Morrel Farm Service in Macomb, IL. 

In 1966, Bob and Sherry were married. After they were married, Bob and Sherry both worked at Homer Fertilizer & Ready Mix where Bob was a chemical and fertilizer applicator and Sherry managed the office. In 1975, Bob accepted a sales position at Chadco, Inc., a construction company, located in Bushnell, IL. Bob took over as General Manager in 1981 and Sherry joined him at Chadco in 1982. They managed Chadco together until 1986 then started their own construction company, RYCO Distributing, Inc. RYCO sold grain bins, legs, dryers, & metal buildings to area farmers beginning in 1986. The business added a chemical division in 2001, when Bobby Ryan (their son) moved back home to begin working with area farmers. 

Today, RYCO is a full service retailer selling seed, chemicals, fertilizers, & fungicides to area farmers. Bobby Ryan and Dave Jobe (his brother-in-law) manage RYCO. Dave and Bobby take a modern approach to the fast paced, more competitive marketplace we now find ourselves in. They are always looking for new and more inventive ideas to build a solid company. The years of experience Bob and Sherry contributed combined with the new approach Dave and Bobby take makes RYCO a progressive company with a family atmosphere. It is the vision of RYCO that while always moving forward, we keep our small town values and family atmosphere. We now service Agricultural and Commercial customers in 12 counties within the West Central Illinois region. Our strong management team, ability to adapt to current market conditions, and forward thinking attitude has allowed us to build a good working relationship with our current customer base. RYCO is proud of its history and continues to build its reputation as a leading agriculture company within the region.
